car tax

greetings, I have not being using my car for the last two months, the tax has since run out on it, Can i claim the car has been off the road and avoid paying tax whilst it was not in use. I know you used to be able to do it before January this year but i remember hearing that they have changed this.

There are no changes yet. Just get the form signed by the Gardai for the period it was off the road.

There are changes being made that you will have to claim the car will be off the road at the start of the period and not after as it is being abused.
