There's actually a bust of them landed on DoneDeal in the last few days, including a LWB 280 or 320, pretty rare in that capacity. Also a rake of C and E class for some reason, perhaps new models coming on stream? Wouldn't touch any of 'em with a barge pole, Mercs of that era are renowned for their quality control issues. And rust. If you want a good old Merc, go older.

Looks like the current owner was also told the car would pass the NCT no bother

It's a buyers market. Why would people even consider buying cars without NCT when you can get similarly priced cars with NCT? Plenty of dreamers and fools out there so it seems...
