Hi, I have downloaded an album from itunes but am unable to play it on windows media player....i feel it is something simple, cos I did it before but I can't remember how I did it... Would appreciate your help.. Thanks!

If the album is protected it won't work, if it is not make sure your codecs are up to date, particularly the aac ones I think Apple use

I'm not really sure if you could burn the songs to a cd and then rip them back with media player again if they are DRM protected.

Install the Klite codec pack and see if it sorts it . Did the album come with protection (DRM) ?

Hiya, I downloaded the codec pack ...now when i try i am getting message say file cannot be found. how do i check if the album is
protected or should i automatically get a message saying it is protected?
Actually,.. it must not be because I managed to transfer 2 tracks to WMP, thats the maddening part, I have done it with those 2 tracks but I can't figure out how i did
it .... I am tempted to download it again from some other site but Itunes is so good i would kinda like to stick with them if I can get it sorted.... Thanks again for your help

In WMP Hit Alt key once, file>and is there an add to library option? Just add the itunes music folder to library

Hi Nick, Just to let you know I -finally!- managed to get the music on
to WMP..... Not from itunes but from the website 7digital ... to be
honest still not 100% sure how i did it, but, am happy for now.
I am going to start a new thread here looking for someplace where
I can learn more of this stuff.. All the computer courses you see advertised are for total beginners or ECDL (I have done the ECDL and got my certificate!). I am looking for a course that would show me a few
things about surfing the net.
Anyway Nick, thanks for all your help along the way, its nice to know there are kind people out there.

Good to hear Molly,

7 digital uses the .mp3 format, which is the most widely used format so much less chance of playback issues, Itunes uses Apples proprietry format, so can be awkward trying to play on non-apple devices (although I think lately Itunes does not protect music downloads)
