Canoe Sprint European Olympic Qualifier

Takes place in Poznan, Poland this Wednesday and Thursday. Irish athletes attempting to qualify are:

  • Andrzej Jezierski (Mens C1 200m)
  • Sean Marchetti (Mens K1 200m)
  • Sean Marchetti/Val Pierce (Mens K2 200m)

Edit: All times CET.

Neils heat at 9.00am tomorrow.
Jennys 500m heat at 10.
Sean and Val at 10.30

Neils semi (we hope!) at 12.00
Jennys semi at 12.45
Sean and Val at 1.00

I'm not sure what the story is for direct finals, I think some go straight from heat to final with no semi but I'm not sure.

Seans K1 200m heat 16.30
Andrejz 200m C1 heat at 16.45
Jennys K1 heat 200m at 16.55

Mens K1 1000m final is at 9.00 on Thursday
Womens K1 500m final at 9.20 on Thursday
Mens K2 200m final at 9.35 on Thursday

Full schedule here.

Best of luck to them!

Hi,

If you click the results tab on the website you get all the start lists, on the top of each start list it let's you know what they need to do, for example Neil will have to come 1st to go direct to final or come in top 7 to get to semi

In val and Sean's race it is the top 3 go to final and again remainder inside top 7 go to semi.

Best of luck to them all!

Neil, Sean and Val in K2 and Val knocked out yesterday.

Jenny was 7th in her 500m final this morning, so no qualification this time around. She was 6th in her 200m semi final, missing out on a spot to the final.

Only Andrzej Jezierski left in the C1 200m this afternoon, he won his heat yesterday, so he has a very good chance of qualifying!

Apparently Jenny Egan is still in with a shot of qualification on a countback system.
