I remember being in a stressful situation.
I was told to pray and meditate and do all these holy rituals by the gurus, spiritualist's,holy Joes, and non medical experts.

My head was melted from all the praying and meditation LOL

So one dark night of the soul I threw it out there to what ever is my first thought in the morning, ill do that....

I woke up went straight to my GP and got help, what I was suffering from was reactive depression.
It was something in life I could not cope with I had hit rock bottom.

That was 4 years ago today my life is great
you will be ok.

From experience the first step is seek advise from a GP they have heard it all a thousand times before, LOL I thought I was possessed too and it was a case of anxiety and reactive depression and lack of serotonin.

The thing is that sometimes depression and anxiety has a physical cause, but sometimes it has psychological and spiritual causes; addressing problems physical in origin with psychological and spiritual tools often wont work, but if problems are deeper than a chemical imbalance than anti-depressants might take away some of the sting but thats all. I am NOT saying that he should NOT go his GP though- that advice worth taking.

I know you mean well.
I was just giving my experience strength and hope.

I wasn't cross sharing your post

It's just from listening to people who went the holistic, spiritual, holy route, and hearing about guru's in 12 step programs telling people they have a spiritual problem that can be only fixed with a spiritual solution.

THROW AWAY THE PILLS YOU DON'T NEED THEM NOW BECAUSE IT'S OUR WAY OR NO WAY

Im a spiritual guy but if I'm depressed and the prayer meditation walks etc are not working,I'm loosing weight etc no Mount Melery or Buddhist Retreat center is going to fix me.

It's ok to be praying, meditating, and looking after others but when that hole in the soul is there and Iv spent a week of my allocated work holidays in a monastery and prayed and handed my will and life to God for 2 months solid after, and I'm gone from 13 stone to 9 and some big book bashing idiot tells me to get down on my knees more.

GP is my option then

By the way I'm not on any medication

Brer Fox, your situation is one of the saddest I've heard in a long time. I would certainly go and visit your GP, in addition it would be helpful to pray the Rosary and bless yourself daily with Holy Water. I hope you will find peace and good health. You are assured of my prayers.
