Bumping

Quick question-if you comment on YOUR OWN AD by simply posting the word"bump" does your ad go up to the top of the listings again? And if it does,is that against the rules?New to posting ads and can't seem to find out in the rules section. Thanks

Writing bump wont do anything (unless someone is searching by last comment, I'm assuming).

You can get a free bump every 30 days or you can pay to bump your advert.

if you do decide to bump that way, only do it occasionally.
back in the day when all bumping was manual, excessive bumping (eg. every day or more frequent) would land you a short ban, and would probably still land you in hot water.

Thanks for swift answers!I thought also that maybe when you availed of the free bump after 30 days that maybe it appears as the word bump on the ad?

It used to but now it will say 'Ad relisted'.

Nope, when you use the free bump it just updates the entered/renewed date on your advert, it only says relisted if you withdraw or mark an item sold but then relist it later.

You can bump your ad for free every 30 days, and this puts it back to the top of the list.

Just adding bump as a comment no longer has any effect (other then updating the comment count) and is no longer a banable offence
