I met himself at 16 & had little lad no 1 at 18 and no 2 at 19 so they are 5 and 3 now. I am still only 23 but am actively trying for no 3 (hope it happens soon).
My mam was very disappointed that I had kids so young (doesn't say it now but at the start she did) I feel certain times at public health nurse and other appointments when oldest lad was born they were very condescending and up themselves due to my age. This has now changed some what due to the fact I wouldn't stand for it anymore. Some people regret having children so young but I am very happy I have them and couldn't have planned a more content way of life. Maybe its because I adore being with children anyway even from my early teens but they are my life and love spending time with them.

This is so sweet <3

I'd love to have kids in my mid-late 20s, I just worry about meeting the right person. Mom was 34when she had me and I'm not saying that was too old, just that it was too old for her. I don't want loads, 2 or 3

I am almost 27 and with no kids although I do panic about leaving it too late. Am torn between neither of us being ready for kids right now and fear that if I leave it too late we will never have any. I have endo and gynae problems and dos said not to leave it too late. So I feel like I have a super speed ticking clock over my head

I'm 24 and have no children and don't plan on having any for at least 10 years, I'm too selfish with my time at the moment
In my class at primary school there was 27 of us in the class, out of that 27 at least 13 of us(that I know of) now have kids!

I always wanted to have children young, thought I'd have them in my early 20's. I'm 28, single & childless! Doesn't look like I'll have any before I'm 30 at the rate I'm going.

I had my kids at 20, 23, 25 and 28........

They are now 18, 15, 13 an 10 and I love it. I'm 38 and have some time back to myself. I'd hate to be having babies now. The thought of it would kill me

Hubby has been to see the doc *wink, wink* so no chances of any little menopausal suprises!!

+1

I had my first at 26 & second (and last) at 29. My hubby's 5 yrs younger than me, so we love the idea that when our youngest is out of the house @18 we'll still be in our 40s

I know it doesn't work that way for everyone, voluntarily or not, but happy it worked that way for us.

Gotta love that doc visit KittyeeTrix

Only one poster has truly hit it on the head for me - the perfect partner. You can say that you want kids young until you're blue in the face but many people will not meet this perfect partner til later. I also don't want to be having kids when we're both in college on a measly income

I'm always shocked by people who had kids in their teens, but only because I myself didn't start having much of an interest in guys until I was 19.

I'm 26, single, no kids. would like to have children one day, but I can't see myself being ready anytime in the near future. As mentioned,I would need to find the right person to want to start a family with. Mum had me at 27, a year after getting married.
None of my close friends have children yet,I guess if they did that would make me more broody!
for now, I'm enjoying my independence and freedom too much :-)

I was 26 when I had my son. He's my only 1 so far, was a total surprise but now I can't imagine life without him.
Still in college, but once I'm finished later this year/ early next year will hopefully go for another one

I'm 23 and don't plan on having children for about another 10 years (or ever!). My Mother had me when she was 25 (which is quite a normal age!)...mad to think that's how old I'll be in 2 years

I know loads of people who had children at a very young age and they are all great parents. Wrecks my head when people paint all young parents with the same brush. My friends sister is 26, and is pregnant with her 5th child. She had her first when she was only 13. Her children are the most well behaved children I've ever looked after, and her eldest son is more mature and pleasant than most adults I know.

Wrecks my head too!! I had my son at 22 and he was planned. When I was in hospital in labour one midwife asked me how old I was and when I told her she replied " oh you could do without this couldn't you" referring to my baby! I nearly died when I heard it but I was in labour and didn't feel like stressing myself out over some stupid wagon so I took note of her name and reported the old cow after my baby was born. Grrr!!!
