A total mercanary,he'd play for for any team that offered a few quid extra every week. That being said he's been 1 of our better performers over the past 2 seasons or so.
"if there is a change at tottenham-some more money is made available maybe-i wouldnt be against the idea of staying"......in other words.....i'd like a new contract please mr levy.

And now, what he actually said:

http://www.tottenblog.com/2012/05/wh...said-full.html?

The lad is a GOOD full back but I still think he's a defensive liability and we rather we replaced him innthe summer. That said you've gotta admire his honesty.

"For me, to gain titles is cool but I'd prefer to earn money (laughter)."

“I want to take this opportunity to clarify some comments that have appeared in the media today,” he said.

“I am fully committed to Tottenham Hotspur and proud to represent the club in any match, whatever the competition.

“I am very much enjoying my time here. It is a wonderful club with great support.

“I am looking forward to recovering from my injury in time for next season.”

I dont think theres any need to replace the lad tbh. we are spurs after all, not barca, city or bayern. As long as weve FBs that can make it up and down all day and stay tuned when defending we doing well i think. And frankly over the past 5 years I think theres been a serious shortage of quality FBs worldwide (in comparison to other positions) so were doing ok with BAE i think.

To me him has one of the best attitudes on the pitch when it comes to spurs players. Im assuming he was asked by harry to go out and make that apology/clarification. However I have absolutely no problem with him taking his contract at spurs as a job - so long as his attitude is right, which i think it is. To be honest in certain situations ie closing stages of big games, vital league fixtures or longetivity in a season I would rather someone with a cool head who understands what need to be done to win a game. As opposed to someone who claims to be spurs through and through but ends up buzzing about the pitch like a headless chicken and gives stupid fouls away or is 20 yards out of position wen the opposition scores the winner.

I can honestly say that right now I wouldnt want to swap BAE (all things considered) for anyone else in the league. And that is not me saying that he is the best LB in the league but for understanding our game and being one of the few fixtures in an ever changing backline I wouldnt take anyone else

I used to absolutely hate him! now think he is decent enough. Has come on an awful lot in the last season or so. Maybe next season he can eradicate the crazyness and lack of concentration from his game!

I remember watching him In Jol's first season, my god he used to be all over the place back then.

He’s improved vastly, himself and Bale have a great understanding of each other. Vertonghen can go back to playing in a more natural position.

I'll be delighted with Vert and Caulker playing CB together, with Benny back on the left. Vert's been great, but his natural position is in the middle.

He trained and was set to sign for us during the summer until Utd demanded £4m compo. Rumour has it we struck a deal with Liege where we have an option to buy Zeki Fryers after 2yrs, thus bypassing the tribunal fee!

Yeah I knew he was on the verge of signing alright, but didn't know about the option to buy him down the road, interesting.
