It's basically a Strategy RPG that follows the story of Jeanne D'Arc as she helps drive the English from France. Might I add that it follows the historical events very loosely and takes a lot of liberties (King Henry VI has been possessed by demons and the English have enlisted their help).
I'm really enjoying this game and it's well worth an import. The graphics while not the best on the PSP are great and there are never any camera problems. The presentation is top-notch and contains some gorgeously animated anime cutscenes with excellent voice acting (the accents sound quite authentic despite the game not using french actors).
As an SRPG the game is quite simple and very easy to get to grips but contains some advanced tactics. It's also played a lot more offensively than other SRPGs since there is a turn limit which if passed results in a game over. Overall it's just a lot of fun to play and suits the handheld nature of the PSP platform.
I'm really enjoying the story which is excellent. Most of all the characters are great especially Jeanne D'Arc who is a wonderful empathic character that you really feel for.
This game will probably get overshadowed by the release of Final Fantasy Tactics (which if it's anything like the PS1 game it's ported from will be wonderful as well) which is a shame since it's well worth picking up and is one of the best games of it's genre. It also got a budget release in america, it goes for $30 dollars in the high street so should be cheaper still on line. If there's one thing it's got over FFT it's that it gives you a chance to kick some English arse
Should go down well in Ireland.
