True we have the FA Cup Final on Saturday, but a home game that we ahve to win to keep us in the fight for 4th, we should be pulling out all the stops to take the 3 points.

I'd expect a Newcastle backlash from losing 4-0 to Wigan but I think we'll have enough to get the 3 points in the end.

What could work though for United is if we do beat Newcastle, they'll have to beat City to keep them in the running.

Great end to the season IMO, although very tense for both Manchester Clubs.
I don't think the Chelsea result on Wednesday will have much influence on what happens on Saturday, well it'll be difficult to predict what kind of influence anyway. Maybe if they lose at Chelsea, they'll be under less pressure to get a result against City and will play it more freedom? Maybe they won't turn up because their dreams of the CL are all but finished.

Who knows? I find that delving too deep into the psychology of things is usually a pointless exercise when it comes to football

He gave Man City two huge decisions in each of the last two games he's reffed them.

Failed to give toke a penalty (and a possible red card) for the Gareth Barry challenge in the Stoke game and failed to send Balotelli off in the Spurs game for the stamp on Parker, who went on to win a penalty and score the winner.

Time for these things to even themselves out though

I know, I was posting in jest given the general association with Webb and United that's made all the time.

Truth is we should be going out to spank Newcastle no matter who's reffing.

i have no doubt we can get all 6 points from the 2 matches.

Also, I will be supporting Swansea for a day, hope they can take the points from utd the way they did from us and arsenal!

swansea look a bit tired, can see them being beaten easily enough. sunderland have loads of ex united players who will lie down in that game. city will have to be @ 100% against newcastle. its not over yet.

i agree we have to be 100% for both our matches, and QPR could be a mkae or break game for both teams, so i would have serious questions about our ability to come out with maximum points.

but sunderland standing aside? doesnt sound right to me and i cant see a Martin O'Neill team not going out to win. And while Swansea look tired, understandably with the size of their squad, i dont think the utd team is the freshest or the most confident.

Maybe im wearing blue tinted glasses, but i would take any pressure off city right now

This I agree with 100%.

The past few weeks would've knocked them bigstyle and they know as much as us that not only do they have to win both games but they have to do it with a sh*load of goals so hopefully this psychology edgy thing I keep hearing about scuppers them

United will win both their games comfortably so we simply have to do the same.

Thankfully we're first up on Sunday so three points would super. Anything less and it's back to the nervousness.

3 points for ye on Sunday could end the title there and then I feel, it will be hugely demoralising to the United players before they go out to know that the last real hope of ye slipping up has past.

Go out in the wrong frame of mind against Swansea and they can exploit that.

Cisse Ba and Tiote missing the game Sunday would just be ridiculous. Praying that doesnt happen
