Irishman saved hitler!

Just wanted to get some opinions on this,

http://www.independent.ie/lifestyle/...r-2579288.html

seems a little bit mad if you ask me, still a very interesting story though.

I would have liked to see that documentary. RTE are awful for keeping their old programming available on RTE player though.

I'm not sure how accurate the report is though. I'm quite open to correction but I've never heard or read of any reference to this event where Hitler was nearly beaten to death by 200 soldiers before. Presumably Hitler wouldn't have wanted the story getting out but all the same.

I remember seeing this last year when they showed it. I am going from memory but I think there was quite alot of hyperbole involved in the claim that he saved Hitler. Involved with an altercation with Hitler- probably, saved Hitlers life- open to interpretation.

There are a lot of things Hitler wanted to 'get out', much bigger than that and most people in the West haven't heard of.

It's a superb piece of fiction. They should make a movie about it.
