The Malta lake area is quite nice - close to artificial ski slope (open in summer as well) & hot springs aquapark with external 30 deg. celsius swimming pool (open in winter )

"sloty" -> "złoty" means "made of gold"

"ł" is the same as English "w" in "window"

IMAX cinema in Poznań

I haven't seen info about it on boards.ie:

http://www.imax.com/theatres/t/orange-imax-poznan/

http://www.cinema-city.pl/en/index.p...creen&cid=1078

99% of movies are with original soundtrack + subtitles

I watched Avatar there - amazing experience.

I have four tickets to Ireland - Croatia (the third category), which will take the tenth of June in Poznan. I'll be happy to change them for four tickets to the Poles (no matter which game). Contact dwader@interia.pl
Regards,
dwader
PS:considering the sale

Any good dive bars in Poznan?

I'm looking for non touristy, local boozers, likely to be a little off the beaten track; good jukebox; good selection of draught beer. You with me?

Hmmm, I'd stick to the city centre. Poznań is not like an Irish town/city where you have a pub on every corner. Hopefully it will be warm enough to stay outdoor on Stary Rynek all night (the Old Market Square, half a mile from the fan zone)

Poznan - the place you want to stay :)

On the Euro there will not be a good or bad bars. There will be some bars you can get in or shops where you can get %.
Probably the most known will be the most occupated. That's why there is Fun's area in center.

BTW If somebody need accommodation/tickets/guide visit my website poznaneuro.eu

Greats!

Never used taxi but I imagine 20-30 zlotys (€5-7) is more than enough.
50 zlotys (€12) would be considered waaay to steep.

There's Airport-Train Station Shuttle Bus, 6 zlotys (€1.50) one way if I'm not mistaken. Comfy and fast, right opposite airport entrance, look for "L" bus.

Yeah, you could say so. Bit like it. You won't find so many restaurants and cafés on Temple Bar. But it would be the first choice to have a pint on "Stary Rynek".

I think It will be hard to get a taxi after plane lands. Maybe 8€ would be but for the radiotaxi. Private one will be 5 times more expensive.

The bus ("L") is going every half hour from 5:15 until 22:15 everyday. One one ticket form the airport Lawica to railroad station is for 4,4zl (not big mistake - normal and 2,2 for students. Controllers don't know too much about foregin students' ids so you will need ISIC card.

The ISIC card is usefull everywhare eg Pizza Hut (10% discount). Dont afraid to ask (before the bill) about student's disscount. You can always say "If you give me discount You will get higher tips. Please remember about tips becouse waiters will have a lot of work and the Euro is the chance for them to make more money and go after this to vacation

*One more thing the price between cities are different and ticket in Poznan doesn't work in eg. Wroclaw.

I think that every match ticket gives some rights to travel public transport for free - the info is on the ticket.

A warning: the currency exchange that is in the Poznan airport is the biggest rip off in the known universe. Avoid at all cost!!! Prepare some zlotys in advance or try to pay for a cab in euro. 1 euro for 4 zloty will be OK in a cab and probably still cheaper than that airport exchange.
