grand canyon air tours

can anyone recommend any air tours of the grand canyon?

Ideally helicopter but not vital.

This crowd seem good but it says in the small print that they're agents for others. Price is good and the idea of landing and doing a raft is pretty cool.

thanks folks

If you are planning to visit from Vegas, have your hotel concierge book you in with Maverick helicopters.. They arrange everything for you including pickup and return to the Hotel.

Be warned, these are on the expensive side if there's a few of you.

Went on a tour my first time in Vegas (July 2008), did the Dream Catcher Sunset Tour! Which was cool, but in hindsight not sure if it was worth the $599 (at the time, it's come down a little i see) per person charge. The OH loved it and thought it was amazing but I think a big part of it for her was being in a helicopter (I had been a few times previously so wasn't as excited). By the time you throw in tips and taxes (not 100% sure were there taxes, maybe someone else can confirm?), you're looking at over $1200 for 4/5 hours (only about half of which is flying).

I'd expect you'll pay a whole lot more if you book it throught the hotel concierege because of the kickback he will get from the tour company, much better to shop around on the web before you go. Most of them will pick up from any hotel on the strip.

www.grandcanyontours.com

I booked with this site.

Picked up from the hotel in a stretch limo at 6.30am, 3 mile drive to airport.
45 min flight by helicopter via the hoover dam, and landed in the canyon.

After a 40 min landing which included a champagne breakfast and photo opportunities, we flew back to the airport via the strip.

Dropped back to the hotel around lunchtime.

Great stuff all-round as I fullfilled a dream of visiting the Grand Canyon and my wife was back in the shops by the afternoon.

Have used Papillon twice in the past for trip to the Canyon and a night flight over the strip. Found them to be excellent and the jet helicopters were new and very comfortable. If i recall their based at the executive jet terminal near MGM.
