Gerry Ryan RIP

Hard to believe it's almost 2 years since we lost the best broadcaster Ireland has known, and will probably ever know. Yes he had a dark side but we should appreciate what he did for radio and how he lifted our spirits every morning. I still miss him and 2fm just isn't the same without him. RIP Gerry, sleep tight x

The GR show was the only morning radio show for me for the last few years of it, and I still miss it. Was never an uber-fan of Gerry's (as in, as a person/celebrity) but he was the most amazing talk-show host, and nobody has come even close to replacing him.

there was a guy called Eoin who filled in for Gerry a few times and I thought he was fab, pity they didn't give him the job. Def wouldn't be the same but at least it would be better than Tubs.... I listened to his first show and a couple since but it would only be by mistake! It's sooooo bad...

Although someones death is always sad, to be honest I wasn't a fan of him.

Found his programme average, his style irritating and didn't believe the whole 'he was revolutionary' nonsense.

But I do agree that time is flying, if that helps.
