Using gmail instead of horde?

Currently using horde to check emails coming through the domain I've registered - it's extremely limited as you probably know already and I'm looking to use gmail instead. Is it just a matter of adding another account in my gmail account and going from there? Or is there more to it than that?

Thanks.

Do you have the mail server details of the domain, just a matter of adding them in Accounts and Import tab of the setting window.

Hmm, I'm guessing I need more than mail.domain.ie? I'm with Blacknight if that's of any use...

Not sure if there is an easier way of doing it but I had the same problem.
My father was finding it difficult adapting to other interfaces (horde, squirrel and roundcube) so I decided to use google apps (free version). The domain is registered with Blackinght and the web hosting is with Letshost, can't recall the guide I followed but I think it was just a matter of changing some mx records in cpanel.

I use my pop/horde accounts through gmail using "Accounts and Import" I don't remember it being difficult.

Hmm, I just added the email address through "Accounts and Import" and selected "Send through Gmail (easier to set up)" - is this okay? The other option was "Send through domain.ie SMTP servers" but I wasn't sure about that.
