And that logbook will never get back to Ireland. It will remain in the file where the vehicle is registered. All they would need is a faked contract of sale to satisfy the foreign police that they bought it from the name on the VLC. Once the new plates are on the car is lost forever.

I asked recently why they needed my drivers licence . And they told me the RSA were behind this change . He also said no I D no test now do you want the test or not I would love to have told him fcuk himself but I kept quite and thought it instead

Sure what difference does that make if they have the log book or not. They will most likely take it abroad either way and the car wont be found either way so the insurance will pay out either way.
