Stolen boats and outboards(possible sticky?)

Here is a link to a stolen boat advertised on www.donedeal.ie

I've no connection to it, just feel bad for the guy. Would it be possible to make this thread a sticky? Could prove useful to somebody in getting their boat or outboard back if it is stolen.

Folks, please don't go into too much detail and do not give out personal contact information. All that can be done via PMs.

Another stolen boat up on www.donedeal.ie, anyway please remove if I'm in breach of the rules, again no connection to the ad myself. (County Sligo)

Stolen lake boat in Mayo. No doubt it's painted a different colour by now.

Another one to keep a eye out for it's a 3.5m Honwave with a Honda BF15 taken in Cork.
The link is from SEA Angling Ireland http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/b...9412d87d774701

And while I'm at it a few parts that were stolen from the "Naomh Eanna" the ship is under restoration in Dublin and she has had her Compass, telegraph and wheel taken. If you spot them you can contact the trust here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Naomh-...11241455563057 or your local Garda.

An interesting success story from Norway (where they have many of the very same troubles we have here).

Basically, a white van was stolen in Norway and used by the thieves to drive around unnoticed and steal outboards.

A member of the public saw the van parked up beside a Polish truck and things being moved from one to the other.

Police arrived, questioned the men and searched the vehicles. In the snow chain compartment on the truck they found stolen outboards.

All the men were arrested and are awaiting trial. The police believe the engines were stolen to sell on when back in Poland.

A few engines have been robbed around north Dublin city in the past couple of days. Keep your eyes open and make sure engines are secured.
