VAT on Office Rental

Hi there... I'm hoping for a bit of advice on a VAT issue please

I own a commercial office building in my own name which I purchased new. I will be renting the office back to my own Limited company (of which I am the majority shareholder).. my question is.. do I need to charge VAT on the rental?

Thanks in advance!

Hi stressed14,

it is unlikely you will get an answer to this on boards.

This is the kind of professional advice which most accountants would not give out free on a message board as there are a number of issues here.

Best seek professional advice as this is a sort of area you do not want to get wrong!!

Vat on property is a very complex issue that can result in significant consequences if incorrect advise is given.

You should seek professional advise on this one.
