Can anyone give me an update on the new indoor track being built. Last time I was up in Athlone, during the summer, it looked like the ground work was finished. Have they started on the building yet?

It was due to be finished this Summer, but has been pushed back for another year at least. I'm not sure if the reasons are financial or otherwise.

They have the foundations in and are starting on the ground level supports AFAIK, but I'm not a builder so can't really give much more information than that.

UPDATE: Some exterior walls are up, so it's a lot further on than I thought. Here's hoping the whole thing will be finished by 2013 - that way we can get a lot more club activities in a bigger space than the balcony.

Good man yourself. It seems to be coming along alright. By the looks of it, it should definitely be done by Christmas.
