Question about prism glasses

I got a pair of glasses a week ago for working on the computer as I was experiencing eye strain from long hours on the laptop. The optometrist tested my vision and said that there was no problem with my eyesight but she recommended I get a pair of glasses that have a "prism" in them to relieve the muscles under my eyes. The result is a pair of glasses that slightly magnify everything and have an anti-glare coating on them.

Now she made a point of telling me not to wear these glasses except for when I'm at the computer. My question is, does this mean that if I am working from a book that I need to remove the glasses when reading the pages and then pop them back on again when viewing the screen?

I'd say that she ment you should take them off when you leave your computer desk. So you could use them to do read from a book. I can't think of an reason why you would need to remove them for reading.
