Yeah I know I've made the same point multiple times myself, a couple of times in the last few pages, including once immediately below one of the posts he quoted. Me and the Rigger/Andy have had this convo before and I've told him I agree with him. But on this occasion, I never said it was their own money they spent (rather than funds recouped from sales), and I didn't clarify because it was entirely irrelevant to the points I was making.

Firstly, it does not remotely offend me. Money was wasted. Exorbitant fees were squandered on average players. No debate.

The context of that quote is important. Myself and PaulieC were talking long term vs short term. That is would we, and I'm using his words here as I don't have the linguistic skills, "be looking to spend wisely when we do spend rather than go nuts in an attempt to change the clubs fortunes in one or two transfer windows." I used the phrase "go nuts" because in his comment, it was the opposite of "spend wisely" which we didn't do (imo).
