This would be up there. Promotion/relegation playoff, 0-0 up till the 119th minute of the 2nd leg.

That one is my favourite memory, they were strolling around waiting for extra time or penalties and suddenly!

Nayim was an ex Tottenham player too, the final insult.

Turkey pulled off some mad results in 2008, but I dont think I have ever seen anything quite like the match vs Croatia, how they took it to penos and won after equalising with pretty much the last kick after 30 mins extra time, quarter finals IIRC. Bilic was going insane insisting the match had overran by the time the goal was scored, and the Croat players were so in shock they could barely hit a straight penalty (they missed at least two IIRC, maybe three). Truly was one of the most unbelieveable matches I have ever watched.

Amazing thing was that by the time they reached facing Germany, the amount of injuries and suspensions they had picked up meant they were playing a very second string side (maybe I am wrong but I could swear they were down to their 3rd goalkeeper by then for some reason) yet they still managed to give Germany a good run.

Lyon and Ajax, Lyon won 7-1 away to Dinamo Zagreb and Ajax lost 3-0 at home to Real Madrid, a lot of people think it was fixed

Same. The guy in front of me who I was chatting to during the match left after Bellamy equalised in the last minute because he couldn't bare to watch them celebrate.

I bet he was gutted to miss Owen's winner.

Its always so hard for losers in situations like this. Great clip though.

I always thought this was one of the best finishes to a game I'd seen...and I wasn't even supporting either team

2 relegation escapes come to mind.....the famous Jimmy Glass goal for Carlisle that kept them in the football league (he's a goalkeeper). Also remember Stewart holt for longford scoring a late free kick to keep Da Town up back in about 2002 or so ....the details escape me but remember it being a dinger of a free-a real trademark of his at the time
