My company has an server sitting in a corner gathering dust. Was going to toss it in a skip. But the server still works so want to find out is worth anything.

The stats are below:

HP Proliant ML350

Operating System:
Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacentre

Processor:
Intel (R) Xeon (R) CPU X5690 @ 3.47Ghz 3.46Ghz (two processors)

RAM: 1 Gigabit

System type: 64-operating system

Storage: 150 gigabit

EDIT: the X5690 CPU is only out for the last 12 months, so it's got to be less than a year old, how come it's gathering dust in a corner?

it's at been here over four years. got an offer of 200 euros for it. So just asking around..

i think everyone calls it that!

you might want to check that CPU spec though, the X5690 was only released in Q1 of 2011.

the CPU socket (FCLGA1136) has been out a good while, so it's *possible* the CPU's were upgraded afterwards (sometime in the last year), but they're still going for over €1000 each for just the CPU, so don't go underselling it if it turns out the CPU is correct as if you have two of them, even not counting the rest of the server, you've got over 2K of kit there.
