A surfboard bicycle trailer

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me with a few questions?i'm currently trying to source a few designs for a trailer for my surfboard which is over 7 foot, i'm just wondering if anyone knows some good sites on designing your own trailer, i live near a beach and i figure since i don't drive i could use my bike to transport the board, i don't wanna use a side carrying rack as i think it would turn my bike into a giant sail, and the beach is approx. 2 miles away so comfort and ease are a must, also i need to attach a security box to the trailer for storing gear and clothes etc.So any info would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

http://www.korduroy.tv/2009/mobilize-your-boardbag something like that maybe with bigger wheels~ put your clothes in the bag and leave it with someone you know or lock it to the bike. dont know. Let us know what you come up with.

some clever fellow made one of these from a old golf-cart, spotted in Easkey in the summer... no bag/storage, but something could be added?

Bike cargo trailer...

Im sure if you turn this cargo bike trailer into a box, you'll have a lockable gear box.
Extend and reinforce the arm from box to bike,to provide a platform,to bungie your board onto.Youve got your self Surf board transport.
Hope this helps.
I built the cargo trailer for my bike last week at a cost of 15euro,for the nuts and bolts, shackel, and eye.Steel drill bits.Im sure you'll get a better price in a local hardware.
Email if you want details.
Happy days
Also have a look at google images surfboard trailer.
N.b. go for inflatable tyres taken off a scrapped kids bike.Better bounce,on irish roads.

would be very interested to hear how you get on as have been looking for one myself but not sure how it would work on irish roads

this guy does a good demo making one himself:

I was looking more at the carver myself but not sure about customs:

any trailers i came across were pretty expensive
