Cabbage App
I recently downloaded the cabbage app. For the first few weeks it went fine but now more often than not, when i try to send a message i get ""log in failed"" error message. I have double checked my details and they are all correct. Anyone else get this or know what causes it. I am on the 02 network.

Hi, that problem is down to the O2 network itself. If you're the same as the other people who've been reporting this problem you'll find that it works fine over wifi, just not when connected to the O2 network.
In the next release I'm putting in something that will hopefully fix or at least diminish this problem but I can't say for sure how effective it'll be. The problem is that every now and then the O2 network decides to stop processing perfectly valid web requests that work over any other internet medium and that worked fine on its own network the day before (and will work fine again in a few days) Without going into too much detail the workaround I'm putting in gives the network a few more chances to process the requests correctly and that will hopefully solve the problem but if your network has decided that it just doesn't want to respond properly to your phones requests there's not a whole lot I can do about it

I don't know if you're still looking at this thread but I have a suggestion that might solve or at least reduce the problem. Basically you create a new internet access point that doesn't go through a proxy.
On your phone go to the home screen then press menu->settings->Wireless and network->Mobile networks->Access point names In there press menu->New APN and on the page that pops up fill in the following: Then press menu->Save. On the screen you go back to highlight the new APN to make it the default like this: Then open your browser and see if it can still access the internet. If it can't it's likely that you entered something wrong when creating the APN so go back and check it. Once your browser can access the internet go back to Cabbage and see if it's working again. If it doesn't work the first time try it a few more times so see if it works at all. Give that a shot please and get back to me with the results. I realise you're probably not watching this thread anymore but I'm going to be linking other people to it because a good few people have reported this problem now |

![]() I don't think it will jinx it because the problem was due to O2's proxy refusing secure connections and you're not using that proxy anymore so hopefully all will be well now. And I'm releasing a new version in the next day or two that handles O2 connections a bit better and will add that APN automatically so hopefully that will fix the issue for everyone |

Really love the new update with the pop up screen. Is there any issues with the pop up on Sgs2 or it may be just my phone. The pop up doesn't appear unless you go into the cabbage app itself?
Not a major thing really as the app is working perfectly |

Basically, if you are using the phone and recieve a message, the popup will appear over what you were doing, and will allow you to write a quick reply and send it. However, when the phone is in standby and you recieve a message, you activate the unlock screen and go to the laucher, where you'll find nothing but your regular notification in the notification area. Upon clicking that, the cabbage app launches, but then the popup for the message you just recieved will appear over the cabbage inbox where the notification should have brought you. That's the behaviour that I have noticed anyway!

I found the problem. I had another app call NoLED that is a notification that hoovers around the screen when the phone is in standby letting you know you have a message or missed call. I guess this then cancels out the cabbage notification? I uninstalled NoLED to check and your app is working perfectly ![]() Do you use some other notification on your SGS2 that works with cabbage on standby screen or maybe future updates may fix this ![]() Yeah, that was me that left the feedback on market. I will update my comment now. Last edited by AntiRip; 07-03-2012 at 12:06. |

I've tested it three more times now, and it worked correctly each time. It displayed the popup on the launcher window after waking it up from standby. I don't know why it happened the first time, and hasn't happened at all subsequently!

Another small thing about the pop up window. If you type a very long message, the send with account button disappears even if you scroll to the button. Tried selecting all the text to copy into app but couldn't because of the keyboard popping up.
Again, it little or nothing as most texts are/should be short anyway but just to let you know. |
