A double-chance is like a rebuy tournament, except you can only rebuy once. If you don't need to rebuy, you can buy the extra stack as an add-on.

There are reps from all the Dublin casinos on the site in my sig if you have any detailed questions you can pop over and ask there.

I think most of them are on here as well but the poker section here is more or less closed down so I don't know how often they check on it.

20 minute clock is the length of time for each blind level in the double chance.

Not sure what the cash game setup is...

all the advice i can give to any poker player is get out of them pub games enter into a casino, play within your means talk to other poker players watch and observe just felax and enjoy yourself. poker is one of those games where different styles of play are all right in any particular circumstance. also read at least 5 or 6 books and the read them again. preperation before a game is also important dont play when tired or after drink. and you will be ok. best of luck

texas hodem lessons

Does anyone know of a place online where someone could practice Texas Holdem in a live environment without actually having to play for money?

If its online, then it can't be live poker.

I'm not really sure what you are asking, but all online poker sites allow you to play for play money.

Yes, that's what I was looking for, thank you. What I meant by live was playing in real-time against real people online as opposed to playing against a computer program online. I'll try and find a website where I can practice with monopoly money first

Pokerstars is your best option.
Failing that, Boylepoker is another option

Something has occured to me after playing a few small tournies.
Often in say a three day tournie at the end of day day you can have a player with 25-30%+ of the chips.

Are there rule or etiquette regarding leaving the table for say 3-4 hours or more, say to get some extra rest if you feel tiredness is interferring with your play.

Can you leave your stack to be blinded out till you return to play.
If so how would a stack be dealt with if your table is broken up while you are away from play.

If you are not at the table all blinds will be posted and any antes will also be taken three to four hours would be a long time to be away especially as blinds are going up and you could lose a big chunk of chips in this time depending on how much the blinds are and if there is an ante.

If the table is broken up then each person would draw a seat number for a new table. If you are absent you will be allocated the last seat left and your chips will be moved to this seat by the tournament director.

I been playing poker for years and I have won lots, I have just started playing free games on poker stars and i find it fun but it does not resemble real poker, you will find lots of peeps log in to a table and go all in to build up a pot its very annoying. but pokerstars free games are a good way to learn.

Advanced Poker Book Suggestion

Since I'm no expert I'm gonna chance posting this in here, in the hope the experts can assist. If its the wrong spot, let me know!

I want to get my brother (who is an expert) a gift of a poker book.

If he was a beginner I would have a wide range of choices but he's not, and I would think he has read many of the popular/recommended poker books, he often has one to hand.

Can you recommend a recent/highly anticipated/advanced book that I could get for him? If it is recent all the better as there is more a chance that he hasn't read it.

Background -
he's playing poker for 10+ years
Full time for the last 4 of those
For most of this time it was in online tournaments (although he has played on actual tournaments occasionally)
In the last year he has transitioned to cash games online.

It would be great to not just get him a token poker relatd gift, but to get him something that he will really get use out of.

Thanks.
