Exactly. They are just two people together but the OP specifically asked for white man/black woman couples and I wonder what got him/her thinking that they are a rarity. Given all the examples of people that are in the public eye that we have mentioned - I would just like to know if there was more to the question.

Given the higher proportion of black man/white woman couples, as mentioned in the previous study, perhaps the original poster was wondering why this occurs? Why are black women less likely to date outside their own ethnicity than black men?
