And now for all the Melo and Lin can't play together talk!
Much better on the TO front from Lin tonight, nearly half his points in garbage time though....first career game to foul out of! |

Media are obviously blowing the whole thing up but he is producing some good numbers and being effective. He is not far off being a rookie, he has spent the past year being shipped around the league which makes the turnaround that more impressive. I can overlook the turnovers for now, he is being aggressive and will learn from it. Time will tell what kind of player he will become in the long term, should have a solid enough career by the looks of it. Cant stand Melo but if he can leave his ego at the door then he should be able to fit in to the team, dont think he will have a choice with the NY fans. Will be interesting to see how Davis fits in now, was supposed to be in great shape before the season started but picked up another injury, he is sensational when playing well. |

Attack the post, not the poster!

He spent the entire last season with Golden State, yeah he had pre-season with Houston this year, but has been with the Knicks since their 1st game! Up and down to the D league is natural for someone who isn't playing much and a team is over stocked at a position! So your 'shipped around the league' is a load of bull! I do realize he has been around for a while or as others would say, a year ! After his initial bit of hype in the bay, he received very little time on the floor and that is what its all about. Pre season was a bit of a mess with the lockout and all that stuff, I am sure he gained some valuable experience with these teams but going to play in the garden and doing so well is still a great achievement no matter how you may try and downplay it. |

I'd see his football equivalent as Tom Cleverley. Played with Wigan, has been knocking around a while now but only really came to prominence this season.
Now, imagine that United were in serious crisis losing game after game with Champions League qualification looking unlikely (yes I recognise this isn't far off but they're still ticking over), imagine Cleverley's goals and assists were the only thing keeping them going and, as a young player, he led experienced guys like Rooney, Carrick, Ferdinand etc back to prominence. And he did so against quality opposition like Chelsea, Spurs etc. That's before you even take ethnicity into account. Imagine this was an Irish player doing it and how he'd inspire a generation of basketball players over here. When has it been a common occurrence for Irish kids to grow up saying they wanna be professional NBA players? I've only known a few and I played basketball for years! That's what Jeremy Lin has done. Has the media coverage been insane? Of course, but they needed to fill a void once football season ended. I hope the couple losses will calm the hype machine now and let him get on with it. But is he worth the hype? Oh yeah. |

Though, on reflection, Liverpool would be the closer football equivalent to the Knicks: a massive franchise with a huge history and passionate following, now languishing. |

NBA Dunk Contest favorite Shumpert drops out with injury, inserting … Jeremy Evans?
Chase Budinger is now second-favorite to win the dunk contest. |

Won't get to watch the 2nd half, but I really enjoyed that 1st half of Knicks @ Heat.
51-47 to Miami at the half. Great pace to the game, some great plays on both offense and defense. Disappointed with Lin though, Chalmers has done a great job on him so far and he's been a turnover machine. 6 TO's, 2 points, 2 assists in the 1st half for Lin. No doubt I'll wake up to see that he's taken over in the 2nd half and won the game for the Knicks after I've said that They'll have to be happy with only being down by 4 despite all the TO's.Here's a good link if anyone needs it: http://www.vipbox.tv/watch/35857/2/n...am-online.html |
