My sister has an old SE x10 mini pro.

Her battery is pretty crap so I was thinking it might be improved by calibrating it.

Does anyone know how to calibrate the battery for this phone? Also, does it need to be rooted?

Calibrating your battery will not make it last longer it will only improve the reporting of it.

No it does not need to be rooted.

Batteries degrade over time, it is inevitable.

There are many things you could try which may or may not increase the battery life but calibrating is not one of them.
