from youtube ".this is definatly the oldest known recording of this song, it was recorded on September 6, 1933 & released on the Vocalion label (Vocalion 2576) the record label credits it as "Rising Sun Blues" by Ashley & Foster. (Clarence Ashley, vocal & guitar, Gwen Foster, harmonica) furthermore the often refered to 1927 recording of "Rising Sun Blues" by Ivy Smith is a different song"




whereas this is a completely different song...
