The profile of it would be raised a lot if England joined it and made in a home nations proper. I doubt they'll ever be arsed thought.

What's this 'We'd' business? Speak for yourself, England have won just one major championships. Which of course they didn't really win, thanks to the blatant robbing of the West German team. So when you consider it's their national game and their invention, it's a pretty bad record really.

If we were still a county of 4million, with a semi-pro league generally watched by crowds of less than 2k p/w and therefore no way to even create end-product footballers ourselves then yes we'd defo like Englands record.

But for a country of 51million people with one of the strongest professional football leagues in the world frankly their International record is embarrassing.

Huh? England's fans are a generally pessimistic lot in my experience. It's the media that builds them up, most of the English people I know don't take any notice of the hype.
