Be careful with LivingSocial

My wife bought a deal on LivingSocial almost 6 months ago. Because of demand the hotel was unable to deal with all of the people who took up the deal within the timeframe on the deal.
After a number of unsuccessful attempts to book the hotel she contacted LivingSocial to get a refund and has been told that it is company policy not to issue refunds.
She has been passed from call centres in the US to the UK and back to the US all with no success.
Our feeling at this stage is that they engage in a process of attrition - by making it as awkward as possible to get a refund they hope you will just go away.

I contacted LivingSocial looking for a refund on something, my back hairs all standing up waiting for an arguement. As it turned out the call centre person put through the refund immediately, before politely inquiring what the problem was.

I can't understand how the likes of Buenos Aires Grill make any money, they seem to be one of those places that move from one discount deal to the next. Whatever about the €39 dinner for 2 deal, the €500 spend for €250 (of which they'll get at best €150) seems like financial suicide to me.

Did you call the call centre in the UK or the US?

I called Ireland

Ireland:

Call us at: 353-1-234-2557
8am - 8pm IST, Monday - Friday

... although it puts you through to the UK centre (I think) they know automatically they are dealing with an Irish issue.
