Thanks for all the replies.

Just an update for those who are interested.
Went up Thurs with all the forms needed, flight details, signed pics, expired pp & fee.

In & out in one hour, very efficient. €95.

He couldn't get it in the one day, they said you can only collect it the day b4 you fly, so I will collect it on his behalf Thursday and pray it will be ready..

Has anyone had any problems collecting it the day before??

I'd say you will be fine, go early in case there are issues. I got an emergency passport once after check-in at Dublin airport noticed my passport was expired. 1h30 to takeoff time. Taxi from the airport to the Depth of Foreign Affairs in Stephens Green and back, just made the flight. Got the photos witnessed by the Gardai at the airport.

Got to PP office Thursday at 1pm after a late start!

Went upstairs, got my ticket and there was 5 people ahead of me!

I was in & out in about 7 mins!!

Very efficient service.

Sorry for reviving this topic but I'm a bit worried... I'm about to book flights for the 7th of July (8 working days from now) to show the PP office I need it quick. My last passport was lost so Im wondering if there's any extra waiting involved with that? I have my birth cert and garda ID.
Also it 80euro plus 55euro?
