Im really looking forward to this. Previous races have been great fun and really well organised. Doing the short course on Saturday, just 4k this time, would imagine there are a few surprises along the way. Did anyone run in the previous race in St Annes in Dec???

Yeah I ran it on one of the few no snow days in December. Theres a few speed bumps along the way so dont expect a 4k pb :-). If it rains again there will a few muddy patches, along the river, under the bridge and parallel to the coast road. Once or twice youll need to duck and there's a hands and knees moment which will be funny if we get a downpour.

I've signed up for this with a friend. We're relatively new to running & have been practising mainly in the Phoenix Park on flat ground for the most part. Are these races very competetive? We're not there to compete, just to get an idea of what it's like to take part. In saying that, don't want to be the slowest there either...

There will be some people competitive but there are lots of different standards there so I wouldn't worry. Just don't start too close to the front and you should be fine. Enjoy it.

According to their Facebook site, there will be 3 times as many runners as December so a crowd of 200 should be expected, which will be a great turn out with BHAA 2 hours later and Great Ireland on the Sunday. Looking forward to it now just hope my hamstring holds up.

really enjoyed the race this morning in st annes. I think of the three venues so far the trail in St Annes has been the best for me. Didnt seem to me to be as big a crowd out compared to Marlay last month. Photos up on site, but it says results will be posted Monday latest???

I think with the BHAA run 2 hours later in the same venue and the Great Ireland run tomorrow they were always going to struggle which is a pity because its a great course and the farmers market is full of tasty grub
