ATI Issues?

Been having annoying smoke/flashbang/light lag in Source. Pretty irritating.

Computer:
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/hk/en...8-3957667.html

Things I've tested about with are:

> The config (lower settings or increased all settings to high, i.e textures, etc)
> ATI CCC, ATI Tray Tools.
> Mobility Modder (only Driver versions I'm able to use seem to be 8.632.1.1000/8.632.1.2000)
> Increased heapsize (made things a bit smoother during times when the items above were not involved "smoke, flashbang, light from roof in Nuke").
> Set hlx.exe to -high

*ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4330 discrete graphics with 256 MB dedicated
*4GB Ram.

I've had the problem back at home on my iMac, but somehow the issue was resolved in my forever tweaking. That was on a 3year old graphics card. I'm now running most stuff on high and it's great fps without the items above. I've got vsync off and settings set to "Use Application Settings" on the CCC. The computer was only bought about 3 weeks ago in Seoul.

If anybody can throw out some advice in regards resolving the situation I'd be quite thankful.

I've been having problems with the GFX for flashes for ages now... sometimes the flashes don't work or only work for a second.

Its actually a common issue for newer GFX cards, probably due to lack of attention by Valve.

I can't play de_westwood properly either... as the desert sand in the air is to thick, making it very hard to see.

Scouted around for solutions before... never found any. Your best bet might be to wait for the update as it may contain fixes.

bob that's because with ATI on dx95 flashes don't really work on you, conversely with nvidia cards adjsuting settings you can see people through smoke. :S
