Dell Zino HD and Mini 10V

Saw this in the Metro this morning:

Dell Mini 10V for €230 (saving €139)

E-value code: NPIE03 - N00B1002

and

Dell Zino HD for €529 (saving €249)

E-value code: NPIE03 - D00ZHD03

both at www.dell.ie/metro

Both machines seem to be fairly decent specs. Am half tempted to go for the Zino HD myself...

Not familiar with the Zino but bought the daugher a Dell mini for xmas. The touchpad is a killer ( integrated click & pad ) - a real nightmare. Flogged it locally and bought her a nice vostro off adverts. Normality restored

That's for the lowest possible spec without a monitor though. I've just gone onto the Dell US site and put through all the same upgrades as the Metro offer and it came to $754. This converts to €554. So, perhaps not a huge saving compared to the regular price in the States but still a good offer.

Or go through dell.ie/epp, and you can get the upgraded version of the Zino HD (1.8GHz, 6gb RAM, 512mb graphics, bd player, no display) for €567 delivered....saving €513.

There isn't much difference between the Irish/US price on the Zino HD. The specs of the basic US model (USD249) are very different to the basic IE model (399EUR).

When you up the specs of the US model to the basic IE model, the prices are fairly similar. USD449 ex.tax compared to EUR399 inc. VAT/del.

I stand (well, sit) corrected.

But I did buy my daughter a Dell Mini 10V for €208 delivered from the Dell Outlet, back when it was good.

Super price at €228 for a Dell Mini v10 as they are on clearance in PC World for €269. Thanks for the heads up. Dell are a super brand and still employ hundreds of people in my hometown of Limerick.

Just ordered mine online there.

Before I ordered it online I popped into PC World to see if they would match the price so I could take it away with me. They have a price guarantee that they will match any price + 10%.

However, they refused to match it saying they do not match internet prices.

I must say that that's a great price; if anyone was looking to get one of these systems. It's a pity you can't customize that particular configuration so that you could go with less ram, a smaller HDD and get rid of the discrete graphics card; upgrading the graphics yourself would work out cheaper too, especially since you can get a new ATI 5450 for about €45.
