Just checked the site there, I would have liked to have watched it, but I'll be making my way back from Galway with Ultraman that weekend.

Is the reason for the triathlon starting late (12ish) got to do with the turning of the tide. Does anyone know what the situation with regard to the tide is. Is it an issue at all for the sea swim!!

What is the story with the cycle routes, I remember there are some big hills around clogherhead (Castlecoo Hill??), will these be in the cycle / run legs.

Best of luck to all participants.

Looks like 120+ swimmers in Wave 3 on Saturday - could get a bit choppy (gulp!)

Best of luck to all taking part

Definately looks well run, also expecting reasonably summery weather tomorrow, so should be good fun. Best of luck to everyone!!

+ 1 on the organisation, While the transition area was tight and I thought it would cause problems it seemed to work out well.

The open roads caused me one ot two problems, one driver slowed down at a junction to ask the gaurds something causing me to break un-necessarily the gaurds shouted at her look in her mirror and get out of the way. Also had to pass out a tractor and trailer while going up hill took a bit out of my legs, still enjoyed the day and hopefully it will be on again next year.

It was my fist sea swim (race) in 4 years and I really need to improve my sighting as I went slightly astray on 2 occasions. hopefully I won't have the same problemn in Courtown in 2 weeks.

Thanks to Pulse Tri for organising a good day out.

Congrats to the Organisers, brilliant day out yesterday. Lovely course, nice little hill on the run out just to zap the legs a little further!!! Again, it was clear that a HUGE amount of work goes in to organising the race, so well done to all involved!!!!!

Pulse Triathlon

Great race, swim was tough and helped sort out the field, cycle had a strong wind at times both for and against. Open roads are common place on most triathlons but there was a closed road up and down the coast which helped. The transition was tight but numbered which I prefer. As for the run, yeah mainly flat but that little hill at the water station felt like a mountain. Great course and fantastic day, great support from all the marshalls.

definitely very well run , especially for there first time , beautiful location , all the legs fitted very well together , like a loop for a bike course , think its alot safer , good marshalling on bike course, good water safety , beautiful finish on coast road on bike route , transition was well marked and great idea having to put your no on your bike to prevent people upgrading , seems like a close knit community , great support from the locals out on the course , would definitely recommend it , intend on returning next year.

Agree with everyone, was very well organised. The choice of venue was excellent, as it was very uncomplicated. Also having the field to park right beside the transition was good as I always tend to forget bits 'n pieces to bring to transition and end up making return journeys to the car. Also very well marshalled and there was no shortage of them, and thought they really gave it socks to shout at the athletes to push them to the max.

Found the swim a little deceptive, it took longer to get out to the first buoy, than expected. Enjoyed the way that the waves were organised by your estimated swim time so for once did not come out of the water and see an empty bike rack around me.
Enjoyed the cycle, made up some good time here
Was a fan of the run aswell, getting the worst of the hills done in the first half and then been able to hit the gas at the turnaround.
It was my first triathlon for a year and was happy to get through without the usual injury recurring, hopefully finally the worst of it is behind me!

Will deffo do again next year

Cheers Pulse!
