[Avoiding Work]

Hey,

I'm thinking of buying a new car and looking at the Ford Fiesta Zetec model around 2005/2006.

I've noticed some are advertised as Fiesta Zetec / Fiesta Steel / Fiesta Zetec Steel and am wondering what the difference is between the three?

I've attached some links as an example. I just want to make sure that I get the highest spec possible if these are different models as there is not much difference in price (and garage descriptions cannot always be relied upon!!)

My sister's boyfriend has a 2006 1.25 Fiesta Steel for sale if your interested. He knows his fords so could tell you the diff. His is a black 2 door example with a lovely Ford factory fitted bodykit and smart alloys,sunroof, front fogs etc. PM me if interested!!

It sounds great bar the 2 door I'm afraid; getting rid of an '02 Opel Corsa for that very reason sorry!!

zetec is a slightly sporty spec usually found on 3 door models. It's basically a 5 door steel. Zetec also refers to the 1.25 litre engine in them. Slightly confusing i know but there wouldn't be any real differences bar the number of doors. A decent 1.25 steel with air conditioning would be a good buy as some had it, i believe later ones but not always

They're both Zetec Steel models. the WX one is just missing its badge.


All Steel models are Zetec based. so a Zetec Steel and a Steel are the same thing.

Toi further confuse things, there's a "Steel 2" spec (late models) which have loads of spec on them, think they were the very last of the old shape.
