best place for 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide?

I know it can be got in the chemist but I'm wondering if there is anywhere in Dublin that does a good deal on it as chemists tend to be dearer.

Just found this website, have found it to be very informative. I've had acne for years now and have been through a lot of prescribed medications!

I'm going to give the Regimen a go. I'm currently on Dianette and use Differin Cream 0.1% W/W and Acnecide 5% W/W, the latter being the one which contains Benzoyl Peroxide in too high a concentration. I use a day time (spf factor) and a night time moisturiser.

Although my skin has improve I still have; black and white head, papules, pustules, nodules (v. bad around my jaw, will not calm down)

Where can Jojoba Oil be got? to add to moisturiser and to use as conditioner for hair.

Is BP not a prescriptive item here?

I'm not sure, just asking, I've never had it prescribed by a Dr for my acne, i Use it as part of my skin care products prescribed by a paramedical Skin care therapist.

Jojoba can be gotten in Health Food shops, it may be diluted so just check what one you are getting

BP cream isn't that expensive at €6 for a tube that lasts about 4 months. If you're using differin it might last longer, cos you use one in the morning, one at night. BP works on black heads. Give it time.

You also need to give dianette time to work, and it does work on nearly everyone. That's a good acne routine you have. If it doesn't work after 6 months, you might get a course of antibiotics too. Sometimes when you clear the worst of the infection it's easier to mantain. Be careful with night creams- they can be too oily. Only use a recommended one.

I find mineral foundation really good for hiding spots and not causing new ones, although I rarely get spots anymore thank god.

Also- don't use very harsh products like scrubs! They just make the spots you have look worse because they inflame them and inhibit healing. You wouldn't scrub pepples into an infected wound on your leg. Scrub gently once a week if you have to. More on clear areas if you love scrubbing- it is satisfying!
BP is a peeling agent, it does pretty much what a scrub does without causing the mechanical damage.
General antiseptics inhibit healing.

Acnecide is OTC

I don't use scrubs on my face as I know it will inflame the acne, I do miss my self heating clay masks!

I've been using the Differin for some time now. Its just infuriating that that acne on my jaw seems to take turns in getting worse like volcanoes!

I use oil free moisturiser. I'll get the BP and use it in the mornings along with my day time spf moisturiser.

Thanks everyone, keep it coming!
