Some heads are still soar in the Kingdom but what seems to be hurting the most is the fact that we lost 3major finals in 1year: League / Munster / All-Ireland ...

Kerry on paper have the better, more consistant players but Tyrone on the pitch are more team-oriented and that's what won it for them. They had each others' backs and took their scoring chances as a team and not for glory - Donaghy was un-marked in the box on 2occasions and if the ball was passed over to him, one would have said they were 6more points for the Kingdom, 3pending luck for sure.

Come on out of that since when was a league final or even a munster final considered a major final in kerry there is only one major final in Kerry quoteing the 3 finals is something that folk who want pat o'shea out will use as leverage that he cant handle the big game pressure - see also club all irealnd- but in all truth last sunday was the only one of the three that counted and unfortunately for Kerry and Pat O'Shea, between Mickey Harte been one of the best of all time and Tyrone gettin the odd break of the ball it wasnt to be for kerry, but fear not it wont be long till sam is back in the kingdom methinks

That's what sets them apart, their consistency. They've won all 8 quarter finals they've contested, and won 7 of their last 9 semi finals plus 4 finals in the same period. Their record over the last 9 years from 2000-2008 is champions, semi finalists, beaten finalists, semi finalists, champions, beaten finalists, champions, champions, beaten finalists. No arguing with that. That's why they're 13/8 favourites to come back and win it again next year.

13/8 is because they are already in the last 12!

Also, if they beat Cork, they only need to win one more match to get to a SF.

Basically, Tyrone getting to a SF is a bigger achievement than Kerry!

Don't think Kerry would have been too worried about the League and Munster if they'd won on Sunday! Indeed, we'd all be saying they don't matter.

I know people say Kerry have an easier time because of the provincial set-up, but they had to get past Armagh and Galway to win the last All-Ireland of the knockout era. Since the qulaifiers were introduced, they have won all 8 of their All-Ireland Quarter-Finals, and reached 5 finals in a row. That's an incredible record.

Tyrone have been great in 3 of the last 6 years, but haven't progressed beyond the quarter finals in either of the seasons following their All-Ireland wins, so for them to win back-to-back All-Irelands, or at least reach the final, would be their target for next year to confirm themselves a great team.
Would be interesting to count how many Championship and Qualifier games both have won this decade. Since 02, 06 is the only year they haven't reached a QF. Some achievement and consistency too!

I said it here beofre the game and I'll say it again after. Tommy Walsh should have played in the centre forward line. He would have given a fielding and running option in the one area were were beaten in all three games hands down.

Or Midfield?

Only in part. To be fair to Kerry, I pointed out in my other post that they've won all 8 quarter finals and 7 of their last 9 semis, so whatever we say about Kerry having it handy in Munster they have an outstanding record outside their own province too.

People often say that Kerry would have less All-Irelands if they played in Leinster or Ulster for example. Well that's only half true. They might have a few less but I guarantee you they'd still be top of the pile. They'd have won the Ulster and Connaught Championships this year, and would have had only Dublin to beat in Leinster, a province where they'd currently make mincemeat of most of the teams in it. At the moment the likes of Louth, Longford, Kildare and Wicklow wouldn't trouble them much more than what Tipp or Clare would, and Kerry would beat Wexford, Laois and Westmeath 95% of the time also.

Indeed, but there is truth in the statement that Tyrone consistently get to QF's, usually via the Qualifiers which is equivalent to Kerry getting to Semis. Tyrone haven't a great record in QF's but when they win them, they win All Irelands!

Definitely. They'd probably come through the Qualifiers anyway if they lost!

Maybe, they couldn't win Munster though! Anyway it's a pointless argument, they'd come through the Qualifiers more than likely anyway, though they'd have more games to play. In fact, it could conceivably make them a better team, like Tyrone this year.
