Printer thinks cartridge is empty....

I have a HP Deskjet 940c. As of late, it keeps thinking the cartridge is empty. Wont print, ink light on printer flashes. Ink is not empty, can tell from weight of cartridge.

Is it possible to fool the sensor or something? To make it print?

Is there an option in the printer driver/software to "Install new cartridge"? Select it and re-install the cart.
Otherwise, there's probably a damaged sensor...or it is empty or the ink has solidifed... or...
