Chicken Feed as Lawn Fertilizer?

Anyone ever hear of this? I know my neighbour did it, but he put down rolls of turf. We put down seeds 5 days ago. Just wondering if I was to use Chicken feed at what stage would I spread it? Now or when the grass starts to come up?

Cheers

Chicken feed or chicken excrement?
The feed sounds kind of nonsensical the poo on the other hand should be a great fertilizer.

Yes, I thought that too .. chicken feed would contain all kinds of grains and seeds and things .. not what you'd want growing in your nice new lawn I suspect. Chicken 'guano' though would be another matter

I wouldn't bother at this stage. It does more good to the roots.
