Nice to see an OpFlash board

OpFlash is a cool game, ... about time it had a board!

Some of us think that we'd be better off driving out to Moycullen, grabbing a random sheep (other than one of Johns girls ) and plonking it infront of a PC might be a better way to go! But I have to say John (Mr. OpFlash) has D/L'ed every Ukranian made virus-ridden mod/addon for the game available, so John may be the man.

Sssshh, quiet you fool, Bethany isn't to find out about that night with Sandra till after the wedding

because it was requested several times and alot of people like OP|Flash.
It's to be a showground for anyone who has a nice new mission for us to try, to organise LAN-type events, to discuss tactics, add-ons, weapons and so-on.
With the impending xDSL penetration (UNNNNFFF!) it should really take off as an online game too.

I won't debase it by saying "If there's a bubbles board...." because I did not engage in any such acts to get this board

Never said that. It's actually quite playable over a good 56k (actual connection @ 48kbps+), and single channel ISDN makes it even sweeter (which most hardcore gamers wouldhave anyways). The larger games can take an hour to play, and so would be more suited to an always-on connection, and with 12+ gamers + 100 enemies + sound/ai/positional data/weapon tragectory etc. you'd need a nicer bit of bandwidth.

But you can play it over 56K, just like you can play quake3/UT/Tribes2/CS over 56k. Obviously more bandwidth + lower ping is nicer, and DSL should open the doors to more people being able to host they're own servers etc.

you can't host a server over a 128k connection. especially not an opflash server. that's good for about 2 clients, and even then, it'd be a bit slow. even if people get the more expensive upload rates, it'll still be slow.
