What did Jesus say about...

I must admit it's been a while sincce I read the bible but I don't remember a few things matching up with what I was brought up with.

Mary was apparently 13 when she was pregnant and the emmaculate conception was not the conception but the birth of a sinless child or the birth from a sinless child. Either way the I read it was Mary might have actually had intercourse of some sort.

What did Jesus say about other religions? Somebody must have asked him.

Did they ask him about view of remarrige and he effectively said in heaven it won't matter who you are with in this life?

I am not looking for an arguement just assume people here might know more on the subject.

Hello, good questions. Rather than give you my spin on it I'll link you to some Bible passages that I think are relevant to the subjects (of course I realise that in a way this is still giving you my spin on it) and let you make your own mind up. These are all on BibleGateway.com, which, by the way, 0wns! It's very handy so if you have other Bible questions you can look them up there. That's not to say that your honest questions aren't welcome here, far from it, I just think that BibleGateway is a great site and very handy.

The birth of Jesus foretold.

The birth of Jesus Christ.

Jesus and other religions - salvation through Christ alone.

Marriage and the resurrection.

I hope this helps.

Other religions, well at the time the only main religion was Judaism. Islam came a lot later, and i do not think budism would have spread to the middle east.

So essentially I would like when Jesus talks about other religions, he is talking about Judaism.

I am not an expert in these things, so if someone know differently...

Well Israel was under Roman control at that time, also there were "gentiles" in the area, especially in the north around the region where Jesus was from and did most of his teaching.

What kind of answer were you really expecting from this?

I'd imagine he was hardly into religious pluralism.

Religious pluralism was the norm in the Roman Empire, where one of the most offensive things anyone could say was that there was only one God. In Judaism, the most offensive thing that could be said is that YOU are the only one and true God. So Jesus ruffled alot of feathers.

Jesus didn't cast himself in terms of other belief systems around- if he was who he said he was then that wouldn't make sense. But in stating his case and calling people to follow him, he inherently said a great deal about other belief systems.
