Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

MULTI-AWARD-WINNING RTÉ RADIO 1 DOCUMENTARY TEAM ANNOUNCE TRAINING COURSE

    00059b99-150.jpg RTÉ Radio 1 is delighted to announce an intensive weekend training course in professional documentary-making for radio, to be hosted by the internationally acclaimed 'Documentary on One' team. The course will run over two days, on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 April 2012, 9.30am to 6pm.
    This intensive weekend training course will provide an unique opportunity to gain an insight into the 'nuts-and-bolts' workings of one of the world's most successful radio documentary units.
    RTÉ Radio 1's Documentary on One team has collected over 50 national and international awards in the past four years; 2011 was their most successful year yet, with 21 awards collected from national and international competitions right across the globe - from LA on the West coast of America, throughout Ireland and Europe and as far afield as Kuala Lumpar in Malaysia.
    Attendees of the course will gain an insight on all aspects of the documentary-making progress from the initial conception of an idea to editing for broadcast. Modules will cover recording technology, interviewing technique, ambient sound recording, use of music, storytelling, structure, choosing the right ideas and mixing/editing.
    A professional audio services company will also be attendance over the weekend offering information, advice and some great deals on the sale of audio equipment.

    Full Course Fee €350.00
    Student / Unwaged Fee €200.00 (upon receipt of validating documentation)
    The course will take place from 9.30am - 6pm on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 April 2012 at the RTÉ Radio Centre, Donnybrook, Dublin 4.
    To apply, please fill out this application form and return by 2 April 2012 to radioevents@rte.ie
    Capacity is limited and places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. This is a two-day course and single day places are not available.
    Successful applicants will be notified by Monday 9 April
    Applicants are kindly asked not to send any payment at this stage.
