Which engine have you got? Most here are the CRD's which require specific locking tools. The 2.4 petrol is straight forward with normal timing marks. The 3.3 V6 uses a timing chain.

I have bad news for you so...wait until it starts needing other parts from Chrysler, you'll think that €1500 for a timing belt change is cheap!!

Not exactly sure but we had kit replaced by main dealer on 2007 Voyager 2.8CRD for around €700-€800 late last year.
Dealer was based in Nobber Co Meath.

Was looking at a 2002 2.4 petrol voyager with 99km on it,suspect the timing belt has not been done, would I have the same issues of having to go to the main dealers and are the parts expensive for a low spec model, there is nothing about crdi in the add or should i steer clear?

CRDI is diesel. The 2.4 petrol will be cheaper as there is more space and no specialist tools required.

Other parts will still be as expensive though if buying in Ireland.

That and their poor build quality, dreadful handling, poor crash safety, useless Irish dealers and shocking parts prices.

    Hi
Ive owned three diesel gv now and found all parts are cheap from ebay dealers, and other specialist places like Jeep Chrysler Spares in London.
Most partsd aslo available from factors. Comment above about a calliper? Going price is £80 from factors and thats good and similar to most cars.
As for build quality? Takes everything my large family throws at it.
As for petrol? The low cost of maintenace compared to diesel over say 20,000 miles really makes the difference negligable. Plus the petrol engine has better build quality than the ****ty Italian diedel engine.

Im about to do the timing on my 2.8. The hassle is the space around it. In a garage they have the luxury of the ramps and all round access.

As for the time they take and charge for ? Will take me all day and probably more, but the dealer is currently £100 per hour in Kent. £1500 typical; though i did get a dealer qote of £900 all in, but that franchise shut soon after.

My bug bear , is after starting a face book page for grand voyager owners, the common theme is lack of information etc.

SO wish me luck and look forward to hearing from others,
    Andy
