OrganisedConfusion €10 win @ 16/1 (Backed it when it won at Fairyhouse)

Black Apalachi €5 EW @ 40/1 (2nd last year / fell when leading year before)

Alfa Beat €5 EW @ 50/1 (Have heard more than one whisper for Shark's horse)

Look at the story entitled "Bookmakers prepare for national stampede" on the RP

Reporting that Ladbrokes will be 12/1 Synchronised this morning.

    Clever offer.

    Ladbrokes 12/1 the field.

Only paying 4 places online, they might pay 5 in their shops

Black Apalachi has a great record around the course and I’m surprised he is drifting in price this morning. The overnight rain wont do him any harm, and although he does look high enough in the weights 50/1 EW with 5 places at StanJames is defiantly the wrong price. He came back after 2 years off and ran a great race to be second to former favourite Prince De Beauchene, with good horses behind and given some improvement from that run he’ll more than likely give anyone that backs him a great run for their money.

    ½ Point EW Stan James 50/1 12345

Not to mention Denis o regan had choice between Giles cross and black Apalachi!
I'll definitely have a bit each way on

Quiscover Fontaineis one I hadn’t taken any notice of until this morning. In last years Irish Grand National he stayed on really well into 4th place. He is 14lbs better of with the winner Organisedconfusion and has been given a Hurdle race preparation for this which signals that this is his target all season. He looks as sure to stay as anything and 66/1 with 5places in Stan James does look very good.

    1pt EW Stan James 66/1

This is what i have there will be no more.. "must stop looking at race"

    Planet of Sound 1pt EW 33/1 12345
    Weird Al ½ Point ew Bet365 66/1 12345
Black Apalachi ½ Point EW Stan James 50/1 12345
Quiscover Fontaine 1pt EW Stan James 66/1 12345

I think O'Regan couldn't do the weight for Giles Cross. That's not to diminish Black Apalachi's chances, I fancy him big time

Opinions of On His Own lads? Looking like ill be sticking a few on him.

Only small thing against him is age, 8 year olds don't have a great record in the race but otherwise has a decent shout.

Small each ways on Vic Venturi at 80/1. Always back him, saw a Dessie Hughes stable lad interviewed the other week. Was saying how much he hoped Vic got in that he's flying at home. 19 lbs lower than this time last year, and his run last time he scoped dirty after.

Also a small each way on Mon Mome at 66/1

Well there are so many fancied horses in this race today, hard to say where to place your money.

For the fun of it did a couple of reverse forecasts

Chicago Gray & On His Own

    and

West End Rocker & Cappa Bleau

They will probably all fall at the first :)

Had to throw a small wager on Alpha beat at 66/1 and Hello Bud (our dog is called Buddy) also at 66/1. If he wins he would be the oldest horse since 1853 or something like that!!

Black Apalachi at 33/1 has to be good for an each way flutter since he has been over the course, and fallen, a few times!!

Have so far backed Sunnyhillboy and Chicago Grey each way.

Will probably sneak another each way bet in before the race starts

Planet Of Sound @ 40/1 classy horse who should stay and West End Rocker who has winning form at the course

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,579 ✭✭✭skeleton_boy

    Chicago Grey - 3pts win @ 20/1
    Black Apalachi - 2pts e/w @ 50/1
    Weird Al 1pt e/w @ 50/1

As always with the national if I get a good run for my money I'll be happy out.

    Nope..

    I tipped Seabass :D

Managed to get on him at 22/1

My other selection is Organisedconfusion and his price collapsed yesterday he went from 28 - 16 then out to 22/1 and down to 20/1 now. Got him at 28, so happy with that.

I might have a small interest in Black Apalachi or Vic Venturi too.

Now all he has to do is jump 15 of the most challenging fences in the sport twice, stay 4m4f, beat some 40 horses including the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, multiple Cheltenham festival winners, Irish Grand National winner, two past winners of the race in Ballabriggs and Mon Mome.

    In the bag!

    :pac:
