Found an ad that makes you despair?

We have the dreamers thread, the skangerwagons thread, now is the time for the dregs of online car ads to be revealed!
Zero useful info, contradictory, or just plain ridiculously incorrect? Photo's taken on a dark foggy night with a 1megapixel camera? Ridiculous gimmicks or photos to attract attention to an incomprehensible txt spk ad? Post it here:

Mazda Carisma - first to see will buy
    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1702759

    Mazda 323d
    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1702364

"good strong jeep i is 99 aND HAS 146 K ON IT NOTHING to one of these its"
    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1702019
It's what exactly? This guy has turned the usual donedeal shopping list of makes and models on it's head by including ZERO info as to what make or model engine or or spec the "jeep" is. OK, so I know what model it is but help other people out like...

Corolla estate, photo's taken by scuba divers at the bottom of a slurry pit
    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1700377

    You'd wonder sometimes wouldn't you?

I think what is more disturbing about that Corolla advert other than the pathetic effort of taking photos in the dark to hide a bucket of sh1te is the fact the seller probably thinks it is worth close to the €950 asking price.

    Yes

Mazda Carisma is my favourite. Sweet Jesus, too lazy to type Mitsubishi or complete failure to transcribe make and model?
Ring her up and ask would she swap for a VW Focus?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,073 ✭✭✭homer90

    A FAIL for me :

Ran a search for a Passat, in the results was a add for TRD/Turd badges, to pimp your best built car in the world :pac:

Really hate that Donedeal search function.

Vintage tax in 7 months? More like 11 years and 7 months.

I thought you could only get classic insurance on a car of that age if it was something rare and collectable, and otherwise it had to be classic tax to qualify.

A '92 skangered Civic does not count as rare or collectable... nor would the average driver want to limit themselves to the mileage limits on classic policies!

why do you make fun of done deal so much i do not get this topic and what about this new one i got messages about www.spammytrader.com anyone know that ,i only see one car on it so far

Indeed, why would anyone describe their vtec as being smelly? Vintage tax soon seems like a complete fib too.

In fairness, the Corolla ad has improved immensely.

Supposedly that civic has 100k miles on the clock but the timing belt was done at 124k. Quite dodgy!

In the description he says the pics asren't great. If you know they're not great then don't use them.

What an utter plonker. I also find his "quick search" bollox hilarious; if someone is searching for Passat why on earth would they want to see a hatchback 306...? Why DoneDeal havent sorted that out long ago is beyond me.

    You'd wonder sometimes wouldn't you?

Well at least it hasn't been used for dogging,
is that the standard use for a Corolla Estate?

    Few points.

    1. The 323 is for 200 quid. If you want a cheap car, you will call.

    2. I agree, the done deal search needs work. Advertisers are aware of this I think in that they mention everything under the sun in the ad and it will pop up as hit to the search

    3. to quote Mae West "no such thing as bad publicity"

At a guess Id say the clocks are kms as its an import and the TB was changed at 124k, in the ad he has quoted the miles equivalent as its sounds lower ie 100k miles vs 160k kms

I can understand people putting in similar cars to theirs, ie if youre selling an Integra stick in Levin, Altezza ect. But I saw some tool put Integra Type R on an ad for a 1L Polo before. Thats just wasting peoples time and should be stopped.
