    Clarification needed
    Comp entry form
Max temp IN C Recorded at Any Met Station ( Climatological or Synoptic) from Tuesday 21 Feb to Friday 25 Feb Inclusive.
    Mt's OP
the warmest temperature at any of the various Met-E stations as reported in "daily data" on their website
Any Met Station would include my station in Ashford which is a Climatological station. But there are plenty others which we don't have easy access to the data of.
I suggest you stick with Mt's suggestion.

Thanks for all these entries ... and any more that come in ... we will go with whatever stations report on the website, although if somebody wants to post any other official data later that's fine, the contest is what it is ... now we wait to see what actually happens.

Does anyone know the current February record in Ireland?

I just entered D_NIALL at 14.2 ... and it's not the first time I've been in denial about the weather.

Good thing that "to alcohol" got his/her own forecast in or we'd have another bad joke from me.

The deadline remains 0300h this evening as I like to call that hour of the night or day.

Seems like the consensus is around 15.5 to 16.0 without actually working it out. SB, does the table have a feature where you can re-order the entries by temperature (instead of by time)?

Yes. While the form is active it is disabled though and the sheet is sorted by timestamp.

Deleting the form after the entry deadline allows sort orders to be changed.

I checked with maps for the warmest days in February and they look very similar to the map for tomorrow.

Now since this is just for fun, I should clear up that I changed the forecast period but many entered seeing the original period of yesterday to end of month, so we'll just declare two different winners if by any chance the days after the weekend manage to do better than tomorrow (or any other day this week). The maps now coming out for Monday look quite warm as well.

The only thing that can prevent a high well above 15.0 would be persistent low cloud at all recording stations, with the 850 mb temperature progged to reach 10 C and the thickness near 558 dm, I think the potential is for 16-17 degrees in any kind of mixing environment, and don't be too astounded if we hear of 17-19 C, if not in Ireland then possibly in the UK somewhere.

Thanks again to Sponge Bob for his assistance.

Highest temperature yesterday was 13.1C at Finner Camp http://ogimet.com/cgi-bin/gsynext?lang=en&state=Irel&rank=100&ano=2012&mes=02&day=22&hora=06&Send=send
Plenty of places already over 13C today despite reporting rain and cloud.
