    Hi
I was on Flight Radar 24 this evening and noted the time was one hour behind real time, as was the flight data being displayed. Anyone know if there is a reason for this.

    Thanks

    There is indeed.

The time displayed on the site is UTC as in Universal Time Coordinated.

Its a worldwide standard to take in to account any variances with local time/summer time whilst passing through various flight sectors and therefore time zones.

Time Zone in Ireland is UTC+1 for example (dependent on daylight saving/summer time).

For activities such as aviation/ shipping etc, a time standard to everyone is a must to avoid conflict and/or confusion. Which is much safer when estimating way-points and that..

The aircraft activity shown is live, though.
